I'm not someone who believes you need to spend a lot of money on accessories. For just about every jewelry trend, there is a vast number of people cranking out their own version at every price-point--and often it's hard to tell the difference between the steal and the splurge. Some of my favorite pieces come from sidewalk tables in Soho. That said, sometimes you come across a really special piece that's worth spending shoe money on. Enter, Alexis Bittar's Elaborate Retro Hinge Bracelet.
Past meets present with brilliant Swarovski crystals in art deco motifs circling a beautifully contoured resin in mint green. At $545, it's not cheap, but it's also not "now how am I going to pay my rent?" prohibitive. I'd wear this to dress up jeans and a tee, I'd wear it to add some flair to a little black dress...hell, I'd wear this poolside with a cover-up and flip flops because it would look damn good on my wrist as I hold up a cocktail! I love finding pieces that I know I'll treasure forever, and this bracelet would be no exception.
