I am having a green moment. A few months ago, I was having a navy moment but have moved on. I have been wearing nail polish in the darkest hunter green, just picked out a dark olive green cocktail ring for my birthday present from my husband, bought myself a pair of green malachite earrings...you get the picture. Dark green is a color that is back...and back in a serious way. I am also permanently on the hunt for the perfect long-sleeved mini dress that I can wear with cute patterned stockings when it's cold out or bare-legged in the early spring. And the "Luna Zip V-Back Dress" from Elizabeth & James seems to fit every bill...
With its deep emerald hue, the "Luna" is so perfectly on-trend, but is a shade that for some reason never reads as "trendy." It's a great, classy, rich-looking alternative to black that makes a subtle, fashion-y statement on its own but doesn't make you feel like the one girl who wore bright red to the party. It also has a tiny-bit-edgy exposed zipper down the back, which is also really low...so even though this mini dress has long sleeves, it also has some sex appeal. The mid-thigh length is short but not obscene, and the balloon sleeves are adorably '60's-inspired. All-in-all, this is potentially my ideal pick for the ultimate holiday season dress...
