In this heat wave, it is hard to not sympathize with anyone who has planned an outdoor party, only to be left with a last minute panic that their guests are going to be sweaty, unhappy, wanting to leave early. There are lot of measures you can take for an outdoor fete to beat the heat, but here are a few of my favorites...
Everyone loves Processo and Champagne, but how about dropping an ice pop in the glass? Not only does it cool you down but it makes your bubbly taste even that much better!
Shade is a must, so for any of your overheated guests, invest in a few great parasols...functional AND a bit glam to carry around (At least according to Gwen Stefani this summer!)
You can find affordable parasols at Luna Bazaar, ranging in price from $6.95 and up, and available in every color under the sun!
For some man made wind, check out Luna Bazaar's extensive collection of hand held fans..old fashioned, glamorous, and actually able to give you a bit of relief...And with a price tag as inexpensive as $1.30 per fan, this is a simple and cost effective detail
A little icy spritz can sometimes make all the difference on your perspiring skin, and this feature at your outdoor gathering will make your guests feel like they are at a spa! Fill empty spritz bottles with icy cold water, and a touch of your favorite scent. Cucumber slices, lavender, eucalyptus leaves or some lemon rinds work well and are very refreshing!
Last but not least, take care of your guests' skin! Not everyone wears a moisturizer with sunblock, and a few hours in the sun can leave your guests red in the face.
Supply a few bottles of sunscreen in the bathroom, or go all out with a "sunscreen bar"!
Stay cool out there this week!
