One of my favorite holidays is Thanksgiving! (What other holiday can you justify wearing stretchy leggings where they actually have a purpose other than to look cute?!) Food, family, friends..that is what we should give thanks for everyday. But since there is this one day designated in our country, we should prepare for it with style. Cooking takes up every Turkey day hostess's time so all table prep should be minimal in my opinion. Centerpieces are easy here; pumpkins, gourds and candlelight are no fuss and easy to execute. To set your table apart this year from last year, try this really easy DIY project that will not only garnish your table with a little extra pop but will solve the problem of "Where do I sit?" when your guests hungrily sit down to ravage their food.
All you need is:
either twine or raffia, whatever you have or can find locally
construction paper or card stock in bright fall colors
Cut out your paper leaves in reds, oranges, and yellows and then write each guests' name on a leaf to act as their place card (this can even be a fun activity for your kids to help you out with!). You can just punch a hold in each leaf to attach it through the twine or raffia, and then tie around each napkin.
Easy and beautiful!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! (But be thankful everyday!)
