Every once in awhile, we would all like to be able to see the world (even if temporarily) through "rose-colored glasses." When things get stressful, when things get sad, or when it's just seems like winter is never going to truly be over, it would be nice to have those mythical rose lenses to look through.
Well, thanks to our always-favorite Ray-Ban, you can now watch life unfold through rose-colored glasses all the time! But before I get to the actual goods, I feel like as a stylist I need to mention the importance of a good sunglass wardrobe. Sunglasses as an accessory are just as important as a good watch, a well-done make-up job, or outerwear that actually shows off your body. They are jewelry for your face, a way to hide a lack of make-up (!), and an instant way to bring out your inner rock-star. Every face shape is different, so while there isn't a single, universally flattering sunglass shape that I can say everyone needs to own, aviators are definitely the closest that I've found. They look good on everyone from Tom Cruise in Top Gun to my boyfriend's six-year-old daughter (who often steals mine...). I must have 10 pairs...everything from really dark ones courtesy of Marc Jacobs, shiny yellow-hued mirrored ones that were only $12 from Aldo, ones with gradient brown lenses and tortoise-shell wire rims, etc.
But these (from the aforementioned Ray-Bans) are my new favorites. With magenta mirrored lenses, you will actually see the world with a pink tint. And since pink is such a flattering shade, I guarantee everything will look just a little bit better, a little bit happier, and a little bit less winter-y. They have the thinnest (read: most comfortable) gold wire rims, and no fancy extras to take away from their inherent prettiness. And while they are super pretty, they are also the perfect way to do glam-rock. But they aren't dirty-rocker-chick-who-just-finished-a-gig-at-5am. Instead they are glamorous-girlfriend-to-Adam-Levine-who-also-secretly-plays-the-drums-like-Tommy-Lee. And hey, no one would mind having that as their image, right? ;)
*Note: These are so fabulously new that they aren't available to own for another two weeks. But you can pre-order them through the highlighted hyper-link above. You're welcome.
