Even though I don't follow football, really don't know anything about who is in the playoffs, or generally care about the Superbowl at all....I ALWAYS like the excuse for a good party, fun food and yummy drinks!
Since the actual football is the star of the show on game day, here are a few kitchy ideas (that are easy!) to set your Sunday football gathering or Superbowl party apart from the rest...
My personal favorite, the football pizza! Go with a frozen store bought crust, add your sauce, cheese, and pepporoni topping, pop in the stove and then add your melted "mozzerella laces" to make this clever pie!
Brownies are always a big hit, and with a little careful carving when they have cooled and are ready to be cut, you can cut out your oval shape (with care!) and add a bit of white frosting. The shape creates a little wastage in the pan, but the excess makes a great snack before your guests arrive!
For a little fancier treat, create football deviled eggs with scallions!
And for the true gourmet, football chocolate covered strawberries!
A cute and easy way to display napkins and utencils is to gather up your old coffee cans and give them a Superbowl worthy look with brown and white paint....minimal effort but adds that special look to your table!
Have fun creating your food, not just eating it!
