Holiday party season is upon us, and as any well-mannered invitee knows, it is terribly gauche to arrive at a soiree empty-handed. While the customary bottle of wine is practical, these quick and easy last minute gifts will adorn your hosts' home in ravishing red they will admire long after the last guest has gone.

Their deep crimson and enchanting bell shape makes Amaryllis the darling bloom of Christmas, and also my favorite flower. Long-stemmed in a tall glass cylinder vase they are dramatic and modern, bunched in a more traditional vase equally as gorgeous. Perfect with any decor, no arranging necessary!

Smythson of Bond Street “With Love” Gift Tags:
If you must dash over with a bottle of their favorite poison, save yourself having to write a card in the taxi as Ive been guilty of many a-time, and tie on one of these. Instant elegance, no hand-written message necessary. This says it all.
Ah, the man cave. You’ve met a great new guy. But his apartment decor consists of a lone Crate & Barrel sofa and a solitary flat screen TV. We love him for being content with the basics and for spending his time spoiling you instead of shopping for home accessories. Also, if he was super into decorating, well, that would be…questionable!
Luckily, this holiday season is the perfect opportunity to gift your guy with something other than the usual tie or cufflinks, something he will appreciate that will make his place more inviting for the cold winter months. From the Wall-streeter to the creative to the outdoorsy type, these specimens of masculine design will beckon the alpha-male in all of them. Streamlined, a bit bold yet still classic, they will take up residence without the slightest objection...he’ll love them so much he wont even realize you’re decorating ;)
You love it because: It's a stylish alternative to a magazine holder - stash his scattered books or magazines in it and everything suddenly looks clutter-free.
He loves it because: You promise you’ll go somewhere even colder with him, where he can carry logs and make fires and go snowboarding. And if he has a rare apartment with a fireplace, well...‘nuff said.

Ever since the one and only Alexander McQueen made the skull his signature, skulls have become beloved by fashionistas and design mavens. We can spot a gold McQueen skull on a sandal or a scarf or a cufflink from across the room. We love skulls for being ancient but now modern, classic but badass, and a little mystical. Skulls have made their way onto everything… clothing, jewelry, home accessories, even cell phone cases! However, without the right sophistication, this trend can quickly go from haute to Halloween. Done correctly, it is the ultimate rebellious-chic fashion statement. Done wrong, its a nightmare!
I fell in love with this Ankasa pillow because it’s so NOT every other skull thing...instead of being black and white or rhinestone or studded, and trying to cram every trend into one moment, it goes back to the basics. Thick natural undyed linen backs block-printed gold skulls, a traditional Indian fabric printing technique done by hand. The scale of the print is small and subtle and not in-your-face, and the symmetry of the pattern keeps it tame and not busy. The low rectangular shape can be mixed in with an assortment of pillows in other sizes and patterns on a sofa or bed, or used alone on a side chair, and will add just a touch of mischief in a totally elegant way. I love the mix of the simple, earthy linen and the dash of gold glamour, which allows this to really go in any setting, from funky and casual to sleek.
